Products:The Atlantic Technology AT-1 H-PAS Loudspeaker

H-PAS and Outlaw, a perfect pair!

As many of you know, Atlantic Technology has been demonstrating a remarkable new loudspeaker technology called H-PAS (Hybrid Pressure Acceleration System) for the past few months. These innovative speakers break the rule of what was previously thought to be the Iron Law of loudspeaker acoustics. It has long been thought that you couldn’t deliver deep bass extension, good system sensitivity, and have reasonable enclosure size all in one design.“Pick any two at the expense of the third” was the old cliché. H-PAS has changed that conventional thinking. The demonstrations are done, the speakers are ready, and the Outlaws have them!

What is H-PAS, and how does it work?

Using a unique cabinet design of ducts and chambers, H-PAS combines elements of four speaker technologies: bass reflex, acoustic suspension, inverse horn, and transmission line. The chambers cascade into one another to pressurize and accelerate the low frequency “back waves” as they travel through the cabinet, exiting through a “pressure vent.” Outlaw Audio

The result of this design approach is the ability to deliver deep, low distortion bass response without sacrificing normal loudspeaker efficiency. In addition, an H-PAS design, due to its low overall distortion, also provides enhanced clarity in the lower mid-range regions of music.

This design is so revolutionary that Atlantic is not only launching its own H-PAS speakers, but also offered to license this technology to other brands. Recognizing this outstanding technical breakthrough, the Outlaws are among the first to sign up. We have already begun work on our own Outlaw floor-standing H-PAS speaker and it should debut sometime in early 2011. In the mean time, we’re so excited about H-PAS that we’ve made arrangements with Atlantic to offer their AT-1, the first H-PAS speaker to reach the market.

The Atlantic AT-1 and the Outlaw RR 2150: A perfect combination

Shipping this week, Atlantic’s AT-1 is a 40-inch tall tower with dual 5 1/4 inch woofers that will sell for $2,499 per pair. Proving the value proposition of H-PAS by delivering incredible performance in a Outlaw Audiomodest sized cabinet, the AT-1 will reproduce powerful, low distortion, bass all the way down to 29Hz!

Since its first preview, nearly all of Atlantic’s demonstrations of either H-PAS technology or the AT-1 have been powered by the Outlaw RR 2150. From the success of those demos we knew that combining these two overachievers would deliver a package with true audiophile performance. Now, for a limited time only, you can own the RR 2150 Retro Receiver/AT-1 Loudspeakers combination for a package price of just $2,795, a savings of $400!

We have heard them all, and we know of no other system at, or even close to, this price that matches the performance of this great combination. Audition this amazing combo and discover what a truly engaging listening experience sounds-and feels like.
